Introduction
Enter a captivating realm woven with the tapestry of Japanese mythology in Talespinner, a deck-building roguelike adventure. As the storyteller, you will guide your chosen hero through an ever-changing narrative shaped by your decisions and deck construction.
Talespinner was my second release at Kwalee, and the social campaign was one of my most challenging. The genre of Talespinner did not translate well to traditional short form content ideas, leading to out-of-the-box thinking. Below are some examples of how I was able to translate this card deckbuilder roguelike to short form.

Streamer style content
As a marketing team, we early on discussed the key role that streamers would play in the success of Talespinner. We looked at similar titles, such as Slay the Spire, which grew in popularity mainly due to streamer influence.
I explored the idea of making ''streamer'' content for the game, recording myself playing and reacting to the game. This was in an attempt to show the games efficacy for streamers to pick it up, and add something extra to gameplay.

Card/ strategy focused content
As a card deckbuilder, there is a lot of strategy and thought that goes into the gameplay of the game.
I wanted to show the deeper mechanics and unique card abilities in the game. To do this, I tried lots of different ways of translating the gameplay to short form, and still make it clear to audiences what is going on.
