RETROSPACE
Developer: The Wild Gentlemen
Publisher: Kwalee
Role: Social Media Manager
Release Date: Q3 2026
Introduction
Disco-punk space horror where you can be a sneaky chap or a mutant action hero as you try to survive on a space station swallowed by a black hole. A mind-bending ride with weird creatures, immersive features, time jumps, and '70s mustaches!
I took over the RetroSpace socials in March 2026 when I started at Kwalee as Social Media Manager. From that time until release, I handled overall social strategy, content creation and oversaw larger campaign aspects such as giveaways and more.

Genre highlight content (Immersive-Sim)
A major focus of the social media strategy was creating engaging content aimed at fans of the immersive simulator genre. With titles like BioShock and Prey serving as core inspirations for the game, I wanted to highlight how RetroSpace stands out as a fantastic immersive sim.
To achieve this, I launched a recurring social media series titled "Janitor's Rulebook." This series utilized in-universe lore to showcase the game's specific immersive sim mechanics and gameplay features.

Weapon showcases
Another focus of the socials strategy was the plethora of weapons available in game. The dev team did a fantastic job creating highly enjoyable weapons, ranging from the classic revolvers and pistols, to hyper-powered brooms.
This was a high-performing series of content, for which I created distinct thumbnails to further enhance reach.
Freecam footage
RetroSpace had a fantastic atmosphere in the game, which I wanted to reflect in the socials. By utilising 3rd party freecam mods and external software (with the developers approval), I was able to record high quality freecam footage in the game.
I then tied this footage to the audio-logs present in the game, to create atmospheric content to appeal to the Imm-sim target audience.

Giveaway
As part of my overall socials strategy, I utilised giveaways to further expand socials reach and to translate socials growth to game adoption.
Through the giveaway website Gleam, I created engaging giveaways tied to socials interactions and game playtime to provide a tangible increase in players, and community growth.
Cowboy Bebop Intro
(RetroSpace Style)
RetroSpace featured multiple references to one of the game developers favourite anime, Cowboy Bebop
As a special dedicated project, I used a mix of freecam footage and gameplay to remake the Cowboy Bebop intro. This was a great opportunity for me to learn new skills within Premiere Pro, as well as create a very high quality editing piece. Take a look!
